I'm assuming the BMW ones are standard ZF clutches.

The only reason the box would have been machined is so they can fit more clutches in.

So I'd say he has used genuine zf ones.

Best to ask.

Exedy stg 2 clutches are direct fit, no mods needed to the box.

Yet the prices have gone up for rebuilds????

I don't understand.

Niz Shaft is $2300

CMS billet is $1950

Exedy stg 2 retail for $900

Seal kit and oil filter is roughly $100

Oil (LG6) is $250

That comes to $3550 (Niz shaft) or $3200 (CMS shaft)

Using GW oil reduces the cost by another $150

The rest is what the shop charges for R+R plus the rebuild of the box.

What's a built box from autotech cost with R$r

Pretty sure Hamish got quoted 6K for drive in drive out.

Box would have consisted of

YV billet shaft.

Machined box to accept more steels and frictions

Kevlar clutches (don't know what brand these are)

Modded convertor to accept the larger shaft

Genuine LG6 oil

R+R

george which clutches does autotech use ?

Whatever the customer wants.

I'll be using exedys

ye mate , Spiro quoted me $6k. No point stressing over what clutches are used, too late for that. All I know is that my stage 2 will be rated to 600rkw, if any problems ever arise, I'm just going to leave the car at CMS doorstep and say "not my problem" :D

on a side note:

Dear Mr billet input shaft maker,

Could you please hurry up and finish the shaft already, the car has been at the workshop for 6 weeks and I am starting to lose my chit now, really stressing me out.

Kind regards,

Pissed off Customer
