They said the coolant level was low but they pressure tested it and found nothing wrong. About a day after I got it back I was driving it pretty hard and when I got home coolant was coming out of the under side of the plastic coolant tank. enough to clearly see it dripping off and making puddle on ground. The next day the coolant Level was pretty much spot on so I thought it was just that the mechanic filled it up too much and it was releasing some and it didn't leak again till couple days ago it did it again. Now it has stopped leaking again. Where could it be coming from and what could cause this. Does the plastic water tank have some sort of pressure release valve or something? seems to be leaking from under the tank you top up with coolant. spinr33 Donating Members 964 Member For: 13y 3m 12d Posted 20/11/13 09:38 AM Share Posted 20/11/13 09:38 AM Hi mate,What you may find and I've had on afew cars , different makes and models what happens is things have hairline cracks in the overflow or radiator.What happens is when the car heats up and under pressure the cracks open up and you get small leaks from the cracks when it cools down the cracks close up and will pressure test fine.So if you see a small coolant leak somewhere just after you have driven it and it still hot it's probably needs replacing where you see the leak.Sometimes these cracks are hard to find.Good luck My 2 cents Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not driving it hard at all, parked and turned the engine off and it started spewing coolant....... Looks like it came the ought the top cap!? What's up with that!!!???
