Hey All,

Got a quick question for all who own a MK2 FG what colour is the inside of your boot?

Im looking at buying a car and the inside of the boot is different to the colour of the car, also the silicon/adhesive joins is fairly messy (where the spare tyre is)

Is this common or is this signs of an accident / repair here?

Cheers

As a spray painter I can tell you this is normal. Without going and checking my car, they should be a beige type colour in there. And the sealer should be white. But without seeing the car it's hard to say. A good shop will replicate the way it looked from factory making it extremely hard to tell for somebody else. Lye under the rear and have a look under there also.

Cheers Seaton,

That matches up with what I saw today, it was a bronzey colour (Beige)

Was abit worried about the sealer being abit messey is this expected aswell?

Can anyone confirm if they have a Silver Mk2 FG the actual colour of underneath the boot lid.

The one I saw looked like it had a mat undercoat that was beige / bronze rather than Silver. I would have expected it to be a flat mat silver colour.

What do you guys think?

Its the only thing from stoping me buying it.

The amount of time you see inside the boot I wouldn't worry to much mate but its normal. You would most likely find the engine ay the same colour.

Well done mate enjoy. When you pick it up?
