A member on here is offering a good price for a BF gt3582 and exhaust manifold with port job done, just wondering if it will fit directly into a FG xr6t ? Are the rear housings the same in BF and FG falcons?

I was offered a rear housing off an fg for my ba and given assurance it would be the same, so since the BA/BF turbo is the same then yeah. I don't know about non stock turbos though.

1 The exhaust manifold is different, it puts the turbo in a different spot and will shift your exhaust a bit.

2. The FG manifold that you have is a better design than the BF manifold

3. Like toads said, The FG exhaust housing is better steel. B series housings are prone to cracking.

could still be worth is if you got it cheap enough

I t's the housing on the B series that's prone to cracking, FG has more nickel for less cracks

Can get a donor BA complete turbo pretty cheap with rooted bearings of which I only want the housing and cover. Reckons has no cracks around bolt holes etc. Thinking maybe I'm better off either using my existing FG one or sourcing another if the B series is inferior. The idea was to build a complete unit though with ported housing to minimise down time. Thoughts?
