I have excessive drone from my exhaust and just wondering if many people had the same problem and know how to stop this huge drone!

Recently bought a exhaust for my FG XR6 turbo 4" Dump into 4" cat then twin 2.5" which I bought of Ebay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FALCON-FG-XR6-TURBO-4-0LT-SEDAN-COMPLETE-TWIN-2-5-HURRICANE-EXHAUST-/170976421085?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&fits=Plat_Gen%3AFG&hash=item27cefd24dd&_uhb=1)

Drone will basically start from 1500RPM all the way up to 3000-3500RPM. While crusing at 60km/h & 100km/h its quiet as and really nice as well as a nice rumble at idle.

The only other thing I have done is purchase a Herrod performance air box (http://www.herrodmotorsport.com.au/HerrodPerformanceProducts/EngineComponents/FGPerformanceAirBoxKit/tabid/293/Default.aspx)

If any body could help me solve this problem it would be great!

If the exhaust has only just gone on, it takes a couple of weeks for the exhaust to carbon up. I have a stainless x-force system that is exactly what you described and mine dies not drone at all now.

FG's let in a lot of noise. You'll probably find that it doesn't drone on the outside. If you get someone to drive it for you. Best option is to change the rear muffler for a better one.

Venom cat, centre muffler removed, very loud at times, no drone at all, at any speeds...

You get what you pay for with stuff, if its cheap and hasn't been tested, chances are it'll be sheeite !

I wouldn't fit xforce either...CES would be my choice, hence the std with race cat, made 308 on Dyno, red hot day ! :)

just got a 3.5 inch xforce cat back and she drones like crazy, called Xforce and they reckon about 2000klm to 3000 klm to carbon up but youve cheered me up with your story.

Cheers
