Sweet...cheers for that arronm I was looking at the goldies slotted and dimpled anyways...so it appears that pad choice is one of the determining factors on how long rotors will last? the less harsh = more kms but less braking performance yeah?So the brembos and maybe these TQ ferodos are 'soft' pads? so I'm not going to get very good performance? it will still have to be better than OEM yeah? next step up is redstuffs or ds performance or ultimates? and these are the ones to give good stopping power, but dusty and probably noisyI think maybe I should try the softer ones first (mainly coz they are cheaper and I want maximum kms really), and it will be a good test I guess. I'm sure RDA golds + braided lines all round + new fluid is going to be a decent enough upgrade over OEM anyway (and TBH I really don't find the OEM stuff too bad, its only the shuddering and squealing that's fcuked and that's to be expected after 92000+ kms) ...but yeah drove the car today (after driving the laser for the last 3 days) and forgot how much better the brakes are lol had to adjust my braking force again and that's why I usually do soft braking , coz the OEM is good enough for me IMO until they get super hot lolalso here's the like to the new ferodos if anyone's interested??...they are called TQ not QT lolhttp://justquietly.com.au/index.php?page=benefitsany one tried yet? or too new? or too 'soft' for everyone on this forum Got the whole setup for $550 Wait just a minute there lol $550 for the gold crossed and drilled RDA + greenstuff all round? wtf cheapest I found redstuff were just under $200 per set (and greenstuff was up to $300 per set) so how did you manage that? lol as said in other post im looking at $490 just rotors + 90 for delivery :/Unless its just coz Im running the 322mm and 328mm rotors rather than 298mm and 303mm which I assume you have? BA/BF is way cheaper, but if that price is for FG and same sized rotors send me a PM with the dudes details lol how many kms you done so far? and apparently I think I read that once you need to machine the RDA's apparently the dimples and slots aren't deep enough so you cant machine them and just have to buy new ones? is that true or you have no idea? prob bs I rekon lol

So compare this with decent DOT 4 fluids, so we have Castrol React SRF whichs is 320degC, Castrol Super Response (to be renamed React Performance) 280degC and a Nulon Super DOT 4 284degC.As you can see most decent DOT 4 fluids actually are the same or exceed the DOT 5.1 fluid. DOT 5.1 can have a higher temp rating but its hard to find a company that has achieved this and sell the product readily on the market.Hope this helps. He will be able to give good advice and supply discs and pads to suit your needs .Phone: 02 9609 1101 I still think DBA are a better disc

I am just trying to see if the RDA rotors are any good. I think from the responses so far it might be ok and should suit my driving style. And again, I have no doubt that the DBA will be a better disc. At twice the price it bloody should be! lolit all just comes down to the $$$ .... and whether I NEED the DBA or not. I don't do track, or even that much heavy braking on the roads. Like I might do 1 or 2 hard stops in my 45-1hrs drive to work each day. and I try to avoid heavy braking at all cost anyway. So I feel it would be overkill if I did the t3's? Like I would never get any discs to glow like some of the other here have, doing tack days and what notI figure its worth a shot, and if its sh*thouse then ill live with them until their unusable and then get the t3's. Same with suspension, gunna try the gt shocks and if I hate them then I will flog them off and buy bilsteins. Hopefully by next time round I would have paid off some of my loans and have the cash to buy the good stuff.Okay, so quick google searchSo I guess its the price of 5.1 as well hey? it would be more expensive I imagine, and your saying its not readily available, especially in places like repco and supa cheap?Ill have to research it a bit more when the time comes, thanks for the recommendations but. Castrol React SRF it is then (if its not crazy expensive) otherwise ill stinge out and go the others. Penrite have a Racing Brake Fluid (RBF600) super dot 4 which has a 600 degree F/ 315 degree C boiling point so maybe ill stick to that. I assume Super Dot 4 is in between Dot 4 and Dot 5,1Ill also ask the opinion of my brake specialist (once I have most of the parts and before I book them in), cheers

But if you have the coin, DBA is the way to go
Bellato Donating Members 2,713 Member For: 14y 3m 13d Posted 01/11/13 10:01 PM Share Posted 01/11/13 10:01 PM I was in the same boat a while ago. Brakes have slight shudder but are more than adequate for 95% of the driving I do but just wanted something a bit better. Matt got me RDA slotted and dimpled all round with remsa pads and a super dot 4 fluid (can't remember the brand). I think all up I paid $550 delivered or something like that. Yet to install them, they'll be going on in a couple of weeks but for what I paid they are definitely going to be a step up from factory and more than adequate for how I drive, provided they don't warp etc.And I went the remsas because it was $100 for 4 corners and I heard they bite well just dusty as fark! Going to order some spray on hose off brake dust cleaner if they're that bad

I suspect SRF will be expensive. and Super Dot 4 is still just a Dot 4 but they have change the characteristics to get a better heat rating.DOT5 was what first came out and had extremely good heat capabilities but was too compressible which isn't ideal in a brake application (dot 5 was a silicon based fluid I believe). That is when they went to 5.1 which isn't really any better than the best dot4 on the market.

Got them last night yet to fit them. only cheap ones. Because mine are farked. Rotors are rda slotted and dimpled fronts parts number (RDA7934D) Hopefully the right ones for the fg? Bloke said they go on fg. 322mil. and cheap pads are the EBC ultimates. If anyone has used these for an fg what should I expect. Cheers.
