Good point. Is the boost that a car runs measured by peak boost, or boost when maximum power is reached, or final tapered off boost.

That's no different to APS saying that their Stage 3 runs 16lb boost, but it actually runs 19.5lb boost peak, then only drops below 17lb at 5000 revs, then 16.5lb a maximum power.

It would seem that they want to quote final rather than peak boost. I'm used to using peak boost.

Well I am pleased to hear that, though do you have the time to take up my offer, remember winner takes all and I promise I will match any amount you care to put up for the bet. It wont make 302Kw at 11 PSI on 98 ron fuel at safe air fuel ratios. Come and prove me wrong, if you believe your right and take my MONEY. Its all good fun.

Brian , the best method is to look at pressure at peak power and pressure at peak torque, this has always been the standard of the performance industry and it is how most leading turbo engineers within the industry quote power numbers, EG. 375 Kw @ 5000 rpm @ 1.1 bar pressure.

Street Tuner: I think that you are neglecting to mention that those figures are with the aid of your water-to-air intercooler solutoin. My original statements were regarding the kit that I recieved, which I ran at 11psi boost for said results.

Yes, the turbo did produce 13psi for part of the run, but, and its not difficult to read, it had just over 300rwkw @ 11psi. Doesnt matter if it had 350rwkw at 50psi for part of the run, it still had 300rwkw @ 11psi. I didnt claim it was an XYZ kit with a certain amount of boost pressure and power. I said it had 300rwkw @ 11psi....and it does...

Anal retention here will prove nothing

The dyno is an accurate power and boost measurement tool. The 300rwkw @ 11psi is plain to see. It should be the graph printed in Zoom for all and sundry to see. The car - and its a manual, ran over 111mph with that boost - wheres the difficulty in understanding this?

Sheesh, some of ya just need to get out and race! Like the bloke with the Stage II kit on his T at the drags yesterday (no, it wasnt an APS kit). Had ten million kilowatts at the wheels, like all of them, and got wiped, time after time by my unopened VY One Tonner with 220rwkw.

street tuner .... I think when someone comes on here with only PART of a dyno graph and after being asked to produce the rest of that graph for the forum to see ... and then doesn't .... well ... that person maybe shouldn't be talking about anal retentive behaviour

answering a couple of easy questions ... can't hurt ... try it sometime !! :nyaah:

Unopened perhaps, but doesn't every third box of HRT Wheaties (they flog breakfast cereal don't they? The seem to flog everything else) come with a copy of LS1-Edit and a whole bunch of homebrewed super dangerous maps?

All Drag racing does (with amateur drivers) is provide referece points for that same driver. Much like dyno'ing in-house on your own Dyno....

BTW, what dynos are all the various workshops running? Anyone running something other than a Dyno Demonics unit?

Sheesh, 'super dangerous' maps. I can just see Steve Irwin now 'Crikeys, this little timing map BITES!'. Its possible to damage your engine if you have complete control of any management system, which is why its a job best not left to idiots in their backyards. that's why they bring em to me.

Drag Racing? Useless really.....unless you want to know the power and acceleration capabilities of a vehicle. Looks like APS and Nizpro disagree with you here as well.

Sounds like somone got a can of HSV whoop ass opened on them a few too many times! Dont knock it or get upset brother, accept and understand. Its all about tolerance.

mmmm Martin, So you're saying that I would give and exact equal time driving your ute that say a more accomplished 'drag racer' would? That my level of mechanical sympathy would be the same as yours? I doubt it...

As for the maps, you've just highlighted my point, LS1Edit is 'around' and there are some very hokey maps flaoting aroudn for backyarders as well. I wasn't having a go at your actual skills, if I wanted to do that you would know about it, I was simply highlighting that unlike a XR6T which needs a piggyback etc, an owner can tweak the maps on their Gen3 powered car and claim it to be 'stock, and the only way to prove it is to do a comparison of code with a 'real stock' car.

I don't street race and I don't drag race so I wouldn't know if I've been whopped by any glorified Commodores.
