not 1 sign of ping/knock at all, without taking it to the knock threshold,

So would you normally take it to the threshold, get a ping and then wind it back down to a "safe(er)" place?

I prefer to take it two the knock threshold

Add about 4 degress

Then remove the Dyno Ambient Air temps sensor from my cup of tea and send it one its way

Engineering term of success and safe.

1)- prove to no doubt by calculations that the machine or process will never fail till x no. Of cycles.

2)- prove via existing service that it is safe to x no. Of cycles.

Therefore u could say something is safe. But everyone can and will interpret that term differently

As an FYI, more often than not, the 'safety' nets built into a factory XR6T/F6 calibrations are disabled as opposed to 'calibrated'. How many tuned cars go into limp mode if the desired boost is exceeded!?
