Can't go wrong with a nice drive by dose, hahaha. I can only produce a loud flutter though. Some days I really just want a full on screamer though for those d!ckheads that have a window down...probably best I don't as I might get punched again. :)

Hey NIGS!!!

Can anyone confirm if I just chop holes in the lower half of airbox I will be ok not to get hot air into it? After my drive into the city the other day (1hour) I put my hand near the front right hand corner of airboox to see if it was hot...and to my surprise there was decent heat generated in that area. My plan was just to cut a decent hole similar in shape to the F6 snorkel style hole (but bigger) without using any ducting or a home made snorkel.

Some people I've read simply cut the hole and that's it. Others have been doing the fancy thing and putting duct piping from the centre upper grille and forcing cold air into the lower airbox.

Will the hot air get sucked into the airbox and be detrimental to power? Or is it going to be such little difference that I wont notice a thing????

ALSO while I'm at it....has there been any thread/evidence or proof regarding the air muffler cone replacement scenario (on the stock crossover).

I think I read of AFF that people were saying that the cone actually does serve a second purpose (besides keeping induction noise down) and that apparently the shape of the cone actually forces air into the turbo better (like it would make a mini tornado styled path of air going into the turbo)..So apparently if you remove and replace with any of the air muffler delete pipes, you will actually lose power???

Any truth or was that all just bs ?

Third question is actually slightly related to OP. Being the battery relocation to boot. Is there a thread or anything on this? IS it super hard to do I.e. any mechanic should be able to do it yeah?

I saw a supa cheap 2nd battery into boot kit for pretty cheap (less than $100 I think) and was wondering if that could be adapted to work as a battery to boot relo? I was thinking the space where the standard airbox goes could be a good spot to put say a big oil catch can or something? But I had an interesting talk with someone about what they did, and he rekons he just made a bracket that comes off his plazmaman battery relo plate and the can fits behind that (pretty sure the plaz ones sit in the engine bay at a 90 degree angle instead of the 45 degree angle with the other kits).

But yeah any threads about battery to boot relo?

I wouldnt worry about hot air getting drawn into the air box if you cut a hole in the front it should be fine once driving plus the air still has to go through the turbo and if you're in traffic everything will be heat soaked anyway including your intercooler and pipes.

Yeah maybe its only hot near the airbox cause it was parked lol never thought about it cooling when the cars moving lol

I love heatsoak...its fun. Nah tbh havent really noticed it yet...hasnt been hot enough weather I think lol or maybe cause its still stock? But yeah...you can def feel the difference when its night :P

Hmm....to be lazy or not to be lazy. I do wanna hear more induction noise lol

cheers
