Guest Scootre Guests Posted 23/01/04 09:54 PM Share Posted 23/01/04 09:54 PM I forgot about the XR leather being pierced. I ordered the standard leather with mine but ended up with the Sports Leather (factory mistake and got it for free). So no pierced leather (easy cleaning with cream) BUT suede under your bum and in the middle of your back. So I have to be real careful not to stain the suede with my McGuire's leather cream. So far I've only been told that the suede has factory ScothGuard on it and that all I have to do is reapply now and then. I found that the little perforated holes in the leather get the cream stuck in it - very, very frustrating and looks crap. Had to get out there with a needle and poke it all out. Meguires also do leather wipes, I'd recommend those instead.CheersYeah what he said...for sale 4/5 full bottle of Meguiars leather conditioner, only used once. Buy now will also throw in empty wipes container.like-wisewish this thread had been up earlier. The Meguires cream stays white in the perforations even with age. (so does squashed kids chocolate and spilt milk) - not sure I would get perforated leather again.Need a product that's non-silicone, clear and gives a leather smell.Found some years ago in the UK at a car show which I used on my ferrari mondial but never seen it or a similar product since - had a great old leather smell too it. I've got some left over from an old Jaguar I used to own. Not sure whether to try it on the T as it has a real "classic car" smell - lovely in a 40yo Pommie car, but a 6mo Aussie car?! - have to try it and see.Have used Auto Glym creamy stuff in the T with no problems. The leather is only SEMI-perforated, and the stuff seemed to come out of the holes OK when buffed with a terry-towelling cloth.Anyway, I'm very dubious that any of these treatments do anything at all. Modern automotive leathers usually have a surface coating that is inpenetrable to conditioning treatments. So I don't think the treatments and the actual leather even come into contact with each other. Maybe, in 25 years or so, when the surface treatment has worn off and the leather has developed some "character", it might be a different story.Cheerszeke
