G6E Turbo Traction Issues

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and also to performance turbo in general ...

I've just had my G6E Turbo modified, and I'm now getting 305rwkw out of it ... Which leads me to my question, which I'm sure is pretty elementary to most of you, but it's something I want to fix quickly.

I'm having major problems getting my power down to the road. When I accelerate from a standing start, I just light up the Tyres ... As a result my 0-100 is much slower than before my power boost.

Here are my vital statistics:

- stock G6E Suspension

- stock open diff

- currently running 265/35R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport on the rear

The Tyres don't have much left on them ... Maybe 15 - 20%.

Would my traction problems be mostly due to my tyre tread being a little low ... Or am I exceeding the capability of the Michelin's with the stock open diff? ...

I see three options:

1. New Michelin's to give me more tread

2. Moving to even wider tyres ... Possibly 295's

3. Needing to invest in an LSD

Option 1 is the most attractive from a cost point of view and also because I've already increased from the standard 245's to 265's in the name of traction.

What are your thoughts?? ... I want to start posting some respectable 0 - 100 times.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Coatesy.

also I would say rear suspension bushs, espesially the control blade ones, there very sh*t from factory. it helped with mine when I replaced them with white;line, mine stock so not much power but it grips very very well now

Thanks ratter and jas98 ...

I only just had the diff bushes replaced with new factory ones, unfortunately ... I should have gone with aftermarket ...

Has anyone had experience with Michelin Pilot Super Sports?? ... Do they lose most of their stickiness in their last 10 - 15% ??

When I first put them on they stuck to the road better than any tyre I'd previously used ... Expensive but awesome ...

I think they were becoming a little less sticky before I had the performance work done, and now it's hard to get a good take off ...

I'm just wondering how much of the issue is because of the tyres and if the Pilot's do burn through all their traction before they're completely worn out.
