Hey lads

just thought id share my story of reaching 300 with you all

it all started this time last year,I brought a xr6t 2005 BA 6sp manual from melbourne. was looking for a long time before it came up. it was toatally standard except for upgraded brakes and in great shape. I travelled down to the south eastern suburbs and took it home that day (I live on the border in echuca)

car was fine, and drove great for a couple months. then started breaking down in anything above 3rd gear and ran extremly rough. after some research and a friend that works for fords advice it seemed like the valve springs were soft, that was fine as I thought when I order a few bolt on parts ill get the springs done before a tune. so I ordered a heap of gear back in december last year.

HD valve springs

under battery cold air intake

intercooler and piping

venom 5" cat

Deka 60lb injectors

Earls oil filter

Walbro 340 intank fuel pump

Flash tuner X3

Now this is where things started going bad,by feb the parts hadnt arrived and there was something going wrong with the car, first of all the car was being funny because of the soft springs but also started cutting boost off like a switch at about 3000rpm. so I took it to a guy in echuca where he diagnosed it and it was overboosting, badly. which I thought was strange as it was still stock. on further investigating the turbo front housing had been replaced with something larger. no worrys I thought, ill just wait for my parts then get the tuner to work his magic.

by march I called the place where I ordered the stuff and they said I hadnt paid for it so its not sent. I payed for it the day I ordered dumb arse. anyway they said sorry and sent the parts. finally by may the parts had arrived or so I thought,a big box came and inside was the pump, cooler, flash box and cat. that's it. no injectors,no springs. so I called the guy and said what the hell? and he said its ok we sent them seperate,ok I thought that's ok. anyway a month goes by...no parts. I call again, where are they? oh we sent them already, well they havent arrived. ok we will send another set. I was starting to get annoyed at this stage. another month goes by and the springs show up. no injectors. another phone call and they said bad luck we sent them twice. I was pissed off. I went and brought injectors seperatly and fit everything bar them.

I work over in WA on 4 weeks on 1 week off. so doing all this sh*t was quite a mission especcially living in echuca. I called pit lane and booked it in start of september. I dropped the car off and asked if it was ok to leave for a month. yup they said no problem, more than happy too which was awesome. anyways I get a phone call couple weeks later from Bell at pit lane when they said the X3 flash box was locked to another car...wtf!! it came in a box and everything! so I wrote an email to the guy I brought all this crap from, and basically he said bad luck. mick at pit lane had a second hand one which I purchased from him. I was furious at the supplyer,id payed for injectors and a new flash box and one didnt show up an one was locked out! now I have a completly useless flash box sitting in the boot. I <3 Bananas!

now I flew home on thurs night, stayed the night in melb then got to pit lane to pick the car up friday morning. it had made 303rwkw @13psi and 585nm.just one lil hiccup was couple of the impellor blades on the turbo are bent which shouldnt be a major concern,it sounds like a jet! if you have seen that burnout video of toxic it sounds just like that. I talked a while with mick and Bel about the flash box and service I had received. not good.

now on a positive note almost a year after ordering parts I have the car at home and is awesome. couldnt be happier with the serivice from pit lane, very friendly and extremly good to have my car garaged there for what ended up being 6 weeks. couldnt recommend them more.

And that's my story, please dont ask who the supplyer of the parts was as I wont tell you. but I will tell you I would never eva deal with them again.

Nothing but the best customer service at pitlane. Sucks about your experience With the parts supplier. Should name them so other stay away. I find it bullsh*t that they sent a replacement quickly, makes you think did they even send it at all.

I would just feel bad mentioning names, they do deserve it though. lets just say im not the first to have a rough experiance judging by other comments I have seen on here. altho none quite as bad as mine. the flash box is the thing that pisses me off the most. there not cheap and the box just doesnt lock its self out to another car.

The flash box should be doused in petrol, set alight, and thrown at the supplier though.

Is there any chance of contacting sct or herrod regarding it to bar the supplier from future sales?

How does this guy's business survive with such shonky service?

Glad everything worked out in the end with the car though. You definitely picked the right tuner with Mick at Pitlane.
