HSV-H8R Member 7 Member For: 11y 1m 22d Posted 23/10/13 08:59 AM Share Posted 23/10/13 08:59 AM hi guys/girlsNot sure if this is the right area for this but in need of some help..have only had car roughly 2 monthsa couple of weeks ago I was driving along coming up to my drive way and changed back gears to slow down and the car just stalled(very dangerous as power steering etc was all gone) and struggled to start again unless I kept the revs on her..I thought it may have been the battery as I've heard some weird things happening to the fords when have low voltage such as alarm going off by itself (and as I had a computer hooked up to it to find another fault and low voltage was one of them).so I changed the battery (with second hand slightly smaller one) and all was fine, then bout a week later coming up to an intersection and it stalled again, started it and stalled straight away. tried a 3rd time and and kept revs on and was fine up until today.so before it happened today I went and brought a new battery as the one in it wasn't quiet big enough.. have just changed it now and thought I would let it run for a bit just to charge up the battery for a little bit and after about 5-10 mins after running fine it stalls.. tried starting again and just stalls.. tried couple of times kept stalling, started it and kept revs on stayed on but as soon as u let the throttle off it stalls. this kept on for a bit then I turned key fully off and tried 30 seconds later and it didn't do it again..has this ever happened to any one else or does any one have any information for me, as I am a bit sketchy to drive anywhere at the moment as if it stalls while driving along at say 100 kms, its not real safe..help much appreciatedCheersLeigh Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If its a few and there is no oil catch can plumbed in between to PVC valve and intake the butterfly in the throttle body. When slowing down using engine braking the vacuum in the intake becomes very high and it will pull your butterfly closed causing it to stick there on the burnt oil ( from the PVC ). You can test this by slowing down with your brakes and not your gears. A bit of throttle body cleaner does the trick. Don't worry to much. You can still steer the car when stalled at 100kmhr.
