Ive seen a few on the Westrern Ring road. There was a Silver (no not HaAg!) one this week. Looked the goods. I have put my name down at the local for a test spin when they get a pre release one. All we need is the Turbo Terry and away we go!

why is everyone so freaken excited about the territory. WOW another big stupid 4WD conjesting the road - watch me get excited!!!

as for turbo and performance versions, whats the point?? Its a 4WD weighing big kilos. I wouldnt want to see Fords lovley 4lt turbo degraded to being placed in a soft roader.

BAH!

Probably becuase if it flops it's going to hurt Ford Australia mighty big time... after loosing so much with the AU, and the increased cost of making a successful Falcon (the BA) becuase of having to bring BA project ahead in time and all the minor stuff they had to do to try and make the AU sell....

If the Territory flops I'd be thinking that the brains trust in Detroit will pull the plug on a Aussie built BA replacement. I mean if they can't sell the whole range or only succeed for a small period of time then it's trouble.

Territory is Ford Australias chance to show 'dad' in Detroit that they can boogie with the big boys.

Maybe because it's the only 4WD softroader (and no, the Adventra doesn't count. that's just a crummydore with 4x4) that is developed and made in Australia. I personally don't want one, cause my T is the best, but I do want it to be a success. This is maybe one car that Ford Australia can shove in the face of detroit (as meantioned in another reply) and you never know, maybe Ford Australia's chance to export something that the rest of the world can live with. It would be good if it did have a turbo though. Maybe the drivetrain could handle some mods.. Oh just imagine it. Put in an APS phase IV kit in the Territory and have a rocket that could make any other softroader sh*t themselves ;)

I'd like a Teritory for my Chook, she thinks they look the part. My problem is I also like the Explorer & I'm pretty confident that the Treittory success will put an end to it.

The rear drive model will be a permanent fixture at school crossings as I believe many families with 2 4x4 will drop one for something like this that should create less wear n tear to the pocket.

We'd like a 2 diff model for the occasional Moreton/straddie trip.

Blueprint for my liking, haven't asked the chook yet.

Scotty

p.s. I'll keep an eye on Mack doing his thing at the Motashow

Won't be available in Blueprint, I have the brochure for it with a color chart, which Ford dealers should have in stock.

Although it's not everyones cup of tea the good thing about the Territory is that if it sells well the Falcon will improve and be cheaper because of it. Any future developments will be shared with both cars meaning R&D costs will be spread over more vehicles meaning a cheaper price for both of them. I can see the Territorys stability control becoming available on Falcon in another year or two. Other AWD products may become available at a later date too, maybe an AWD Falcon ute.

so they can boogie with the big boys :spit:

why oh why, no 5 speed auto. this would certainly assist with it's sluggish performance of the line..
