Is it still risky to do email tuning if they are tweaking with a tune done when the car was in Sydney in their workshops. I ask because I'm in Darwin and it's not so easy to get the car back down there. It cost me $2,000 to bring it up one way. The car hasn't changed since both workshops did their tunes but I'm in a much hotter and humid climate now so id like it checked and tweaked. Also if I were to do minor mods like move my Cai to turbo side maybe and email tweak could be done. Naturally I'll ask the tuners but I'd be keen for opinions about whether realistically it is doable

Email tune is not ideal but neither is. $4000 round trip to touch up a tune for your climate, but then your not in your climate lol....I would say give it a go if it really cost that much to get there and there is nobody in town capable. Yeah Darwin tuners are no good. On my old car I gave the best in town 3 days with my car and $1000 and got 1 extra kW from the generic tune that was in the sct box when I got it Yeah all I need is a wet season and dry season tune and I should be good. If you cant hear a knock box it very easy to use.Third, invest in a wideband gauge and learn where it is meant to be.Its good to have piece of mind but once you are past 350kw you got to start learning stuff and not rely on a tuner, esp considering you are in Darwin.

When I originally loaded it I had a local tuner check it immediately to make sure it was all safe. He was blown away by how good it was. He wished he could have got it off the box. It came from a dam good tuner A couple of years later I improved the intake and took it to another tuner for a custom tune and that's when I got the 1kw increase. It was maxed at 292 if I recall. I have No complaint about the tuner. he put loads of work into trying to get more out of it and he earned his money but I just don't think he had the same experience and skill as you guys who get a lot more if these cars in.
