Recently my twin 044's have become noisier than usual, at even at idle.

This used to happen in summer when I ran a 98 tune but it is also occurring now on E70 and E85 even when the engine and fuel/pumps are cold.

Do these pumps have a limited life span or could it be the rubber mounts?

Most of the time my daily driven car is run on Eflex

Guessing I've done around 80,000kms with these fuel pumps.

I've got a single o44 probably needs replacing as it has been on 2 of my cars.

If it's an early surge set up Kev has a mount kit that quiets them down. That said

mine still sounds like a swarm of bees when the fuel gets hot..

No issues with fuel delivery on the dyno , but will probably replace anyway.

Sorry not much help

Maybe put some upper cylinder lube in the tank I read something about it being good for fuel pumps . But probably wont make much difference lol

Forgot to mention this and strange that you reminded me, that's exactly what I did just prior to them getting noisier.

They are just a crap annoying pump when used externally, new or used and just using normal 98.

I had a setup where the fuel was returned to a surge tank and the heated fuel really made the pump go troppo even in winter.

I then modified the setup so the fuel returned to the fuel tank first and the first supply intank pump was big enough to supply the surge tank so the fuel kept relatively cool and the pump did not go troppo until summer when road heat and heat in general set the pump into troppo mode.

So heat plays a big part and having a surge tank with fuel going back into it on the return line is a no no with this pump.

But when you put it intank then this pump is fine.

In general the 044 has caused me too many headaches when used externally
