Sorry Mark but mine hits the limiter in P and the rev limiter has been lifted, the first 2 gears rev so hard and fast it is much safer to shift manually.

From my limited experience with zfs at the track (I think I am at 140+ passes now), you will run quicker times shifting manually.

I also believe that short shifting does not get me better times, I shift when the tacho hits 4800rpm from first into second and 5000rpm into third followed by 5600rpm into fourth, this allows that little bit extra for the shift.

OP please do not listen to Mark as I feel that he has no clue in this subject, and if you keep banging the limiter then your oil pump gears will eventually give in.

Stay away from generic zf tunes as each box is different, Spiro must of changed mine at least 10 or 12 times before we I was happy.

:VB Beer: to you Mcfear for asking the question - creating an interesting debate

Although I haven't put my stock g6et down the 1/4 mile (too old, too scared), I have given it a few runs on the ummmmmm, private (hehe) 1/4 mile 'ish and cannot leave it in performance as the engine bounces at 3 to 3 1/2 in first and will then change to 2nd and then will bounce on the limiter at the top of 2nd and 3rd.......

So to add another question to the OP's, which may be totally stupid but, is there any diff in the way they are set from factory?

doubtful but doesn't hurt to ask I guess and obviously a clued in tuner will be able to sort this out for the way a person wants to drive their car.

Shift manually

I will be doing this now. Not really keen on smashing oil pump gears. But yeah 1st and 2nd rev so quick that u gotta be on your game.

Why dont you want to raise the rev cut?, mine is raised and has been changed to a soft cut.

Mine is raised also... What I meant is higher than what it is already
