Hi Guys, I have noticed for the past couple of months, if I give a little bit of a kick to my BA MKII xr6 turbo ute, that in the higher reve range the turbo will cut out all together until I change to the next gear, then do it in that gear and so on. What would be the cause of this and how can I rectify it?

Thanks :)

^^^whs^^^ also your better to short shift these than rev them to the redline, generally you dont gain to much more in the last 1000 revs.

ok I see what you guys are getting at, but I should have worded my post better. It's not getting into redline territory doing this though, but in saying that, would it best to have someone look at my shift points and get them properly adjusted??

If this is the car that had the dodgy tune and boost control removed then yeah - probably a good idea to get someone to look at it.

damn straigh raband, ford did say they flashed back to stock but still getting this issue, will take it to a reputable guy over the border and get him to check it out and we can just do 1 bit at a time.

Another quick one, if I were to purchase a flash tune, can I flash it just staright back to stock?

There are no mods on the car at all.

Not without replacing them. Their symptoms are usually breaking down when under load.

Regarding the flash tune, if your tuner uses SCT to tune and you buy an XCAL3, you will have the ability to transfer between the factory and custom tunes using the flash box.

Best to stick with the original plan and take it to a reputable garage. Hopefully that's all it is just a coilpack or something cheap though :thumbs-up:

I had lots of issues and decided to throw money at my BA mk2. I would HIGHLY recommend a correct diagnosis before you go and replace lots of functional parts for brand new.

Fuel filter was causing my issues, it's also a maintenance thing, with how cheap they are, I'd do it anyway if it's been a while.

Ever tried running different fuel in it? I had some problems where mine would cut out and just not like 98 or 95 but ran a heck of a lot better on 91, all sorted now (by throwing lots of money - I don't know what part fixed it). It HATES 95 still to this day, but handles 98 and 91 just fine.
