Hi all

Noob here . Brought a bf2 xr6 turbo in may . Clocked up 10,000 kms in it . Been awesome but lately a little electrical fault and was wondering if anyone has experienced it . Driving along at various speeds and the speedo just cuts out. Pull over and restart and she comes back to life . Tonight I flicked on the high beams , it flashes the traction light and then the speedo just stops . Doesn't do it all the time though . Will get it on a scanner on the weekend and check any codes.

Any light on this would be awesome

Thanks

Adam

Check your fuses mate.. I've seen a BA drop speedo etc.. Just had a couple fuses that weren't working properly..

shot in the dark. clock spring in steering wheel?

Mines gone (havent replaced yet) and it sounds similar to the weird problems I've had.

Check fuses first as above before throwing money at car though.

Checked battery test 547 cca with 12.9 volts . Drops to 11.3 when starting so battery ok and alternator charging .

Checked fault codes and abs doesn't have any codes but did get codes for speed sensor . Have cleared all codes and reset computer .

Tried high beam on way home and didn't drop out .

Not sure if there is a separate sensor for the speedo I. The ZF 6 speed or it uses the ABS .?

Anyone know?

Had this problem on my BF xr6 and just had the same thing on the BF turbo wagon I got a year ago

The speedo doesn't work but if you turn the car off ans start it again it works fine

It's the battery it's getting tired
