I will get a video that records the sound before I change the turbo. I might actually keep the turbo on for a while to fool the Expensive Daewoo guys and tell them its turbo and supercharged.

The turbo shaft bearings are fine. No issue there. Must have been some rubber piece that went thru as no marks on the edges of the blade.

Should be plenty of used gt76's minus exhaust housings around for sale cheap Tony, now that GTX's are the new black.

I'd love to try a GTX3576 myself.

Having the GTX3582 power is good, but it's not very responsive compared to the little turbo.

Goes like fuking stink though !

But I reckon could probably live with 50 or so less HP in favour of the better response of the GTX76.

Too late now though.

I already have a GT3540 turbo in good condition on my FG. So the most logical thing is to put a new wheel on it.

All up around the $300 (blowjob price) to put a genuine GTX3582R wheel on including balance . I am just going to use the existing cover. Not sure what it is.

seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I was right!

Sorry, you were not specific enough. No prizes for you.

I had this exact same issue/sound.

it was a leaky gasket on the throttle body - the gasket was acting like the reed in a saxophone - until it got to much and spat one side of the gasket out

gasket was $5 from ford - cheaper than a new turbo which is what I thought it was

Far out that's a win, $5 fixes aren't common with a turbo :)
