Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and might shed some light on how to fix it. My BA mkii has been in the shop getting a heap of mods done (plenty of problems there on its own).... and when they went to plug in the sct tuner, it wouldnt turn on !!! So they've been crawling through my wiring for 2 days now trying to find the problem and they're still going. All fuses and relays are good. I'm an electrician myself, but because my car is in thier shop at the moment, they want thier guys to look at into, so I havent been able to test the OBD2 port for power/signal/grounds ect.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if so, what that problem was.

Cheers !!!

First thing first, Have they tried another flash box? I would start with dud flash box as the most likely issue.

Attached are a series of diagrams, the ODB circuit is very simple. Power comes from the courtesy light fuse.

Comms Network.pdf

OBD Pinout.pdf

OBD power supply.pdf

OBD to EECB.pdf

There isnt really a great deal that could be an issue. Continuity check between the obd post and the EEC-B connector would be my next move pending checking the flash box and fuse.

Has the car ever been pranged/had the dash out?

good luck!

Cheers for that man. Just forwarded all that info onto my tuner, but he already had it (should've know), lol. He reckons he got a heap of sh*t I didnt even know was broken going again and hoping to get it going tonight. He's doing all the work after hours to try and keep the costs down as I already spent over 5 grand on mods already. Just keen to get it back with some decent power for once !!!

He works overtime to keep costs DOWN for you? Man I wish all the places I've had work done were like that! Good luck with the OBD2 issue.

Hey guys, just updating the situation. Just got a phone call from my tuner saying they found the problem last night and it's all fixed !!!

Haven't heard what the problem was exactly, but aparently they had to do a bit of wiring to get it going and all talking to everything. Only cost me $450 bucks which ain't bad considering it was all done in a few nights after hours.

Should be getting tuned in the later half of the week !!!

A big thank you goes out to Lee from LG Automotive and his auto electrician mate for being so patient and helpful !!!
