Hi people how we going? I have a question! I have a 2012 FG xr6t manual and thinking of putting an auto in it for family reason! Does any one know what the cost would be roughly?

Its normally the other way around - people buy auto, chuck a manual in it.

You "could" put a ZF into it, it "has" been done to a BA, but it was a mammoth job. and if you couldn't tackle it yourself, think tens of thousands.

Ninka did the conversion, he had to change ABS modules, ignition barrol, complete wiring loom, numerous trips to his local Ford dealer to address flashing issues, ECU swap, there was probably a ICC change thrown in there too

If you wanted to go, say, C4 auto, that would be easy peasy, as the ECU doesn't control the C4. But the car would lose a lot of its driveability, as the C4 is a ancient bit of gear. Extremely strong, but ancient.

Dunno about wherever you are but in perth when I was buying mine the manuals were going for around $5000 more than the autos cos there's a lot less around. So you could sell your manual buy an auto and spend the rest on mods! That's what I'd be doing...

So you guys think I could sell it for around the mark I paid amid simply buy the auto version. But this one a I have has everything I wanted and got alittle excited when I bought it. For me the car is great just wife is frying me LoL :) always said I wanted an auto then found this and got manual. Manual gear box seems really tight and alittle getting used to. I got drive an auto to it limits no worries in the world, but the manual feels like a completely different concept. In the 2012 FG should one rev dump in 2nd to avoid the diff bouncing?? Not that I tend to do it a lot but was just wondering what would work better?? If anyone knows shoot us a msg cheers!
