All I know is the GTX is a complete engineered high performance turbo - not a hybrid. To put a new wheel on a GT that's done decent k's already is just asking for trouble imo and at $1000 for that, not a viable option.

His new one at $1200 is still a bored out job in a .50 cover with 3" front and no anti-surge. It's just not enough of a gap to not go out of the box brand new GTX with full warranty. I paid $175 more.

Can someone tell me why ceramic bb in turbo's are no good or why people don't like them? I have zero experience with ceramic bb in turbo's but in RC racing It's the sh!t for engines and chassis use!

So I guess butt is only trolling for bites then!

I'll have to do some reading on which turbo's carry them as imo also they are superior but just haven't heard much feedback or gloating about "my balls are ceramic and not cheap steel"...

I know in the cycling community (no I'm not gay), ceramic bearings in the wheels hubs are all the rave. Apparently they have less rolling resistance and a higher tolerance to heat. One would assume these benefits would be far more significant in a turbo than a farken bike wheel

This is another one of those situations where I am preeeety sure I read this somewhere some years ago regarding garrett using steel bearings.

Please don't quote this (maybe the google boy could do some research to verify if I did infact read it or is this another case of my stupid brain making sh*t up).

Garrett use steel coz cheaper to manufacture and when the bearing pack fails, you bought a new pack - and whatever else is needed - and rebuilt your turbo.........thus securing a 'spare parts' sale.

This practice was preferred coz testing showed less problems occurred with ceramic.

Again ------ please don't quote coz I could be wrong

Down side is that when Biz and I bought our GTX..76's, Paul at MTQ told us that Garrett no longer do the bearing pack as a spare part for these turbos

So are you saying that if your gtx poo poo's that you can't repair it but have to buy a new complete core with shaft? Or am I not reading your response correctly?

Quality ceramic bearings were superior over steel in my RC engine. They took abuse that would see the steel pack it in and I believe because of the heat properties of both where the steel with high engine temps and lack of lubrication caused the bb cage to destroy itself the ceramic would just keep on going until an engine part have in... Sleeve, conrod or crank!

Anyhow... Back to the GTX3576r and a group but mofos!!!
