Sorry guys, meant Geelong not Frankston.. I have spoken to afew blokes with abit of experience with the xr6t's and all three of them said last time they encountered this issue it was an ECU issue.. Logicar do ECU tests for $120 which I think is my next option, and if a problem is found, the test fee is waived and I'm only charged the repair costs..

Keddy, by saying theres water in the box, what do you mean by that? What am I meant to do to fix/diagnose it, and what are my options?

Thanks for all the replies guys, its really appreciated!

If DTM have rebuilt it I'm sure it will have a aftermarket trans cooler as the stock trans coolers are well known to crack and leak water into the trans fluid destroying the box I have heard of the ECU fault your describing but it was the PCM if I remember correctly it happened in 3rd under load and you will have s3 s4 failure give DTM a call there pretty good blokes even if it's going to cost you it will be better then starting again with someone and again I would go see dynomite if there closer dion has heaps of experience with the 4spd's

Hey Kenny, thanks heaps for the reply, I think I'm just going to take my car in to dynomotive and get them to give it a good diagnosis.

On a side note, it happened multiple times today, never happens in morning, only after cars been driven, then let to rest, then start up again.

I have noticed that the car does not idle properly when it is 'Flashing D' or in 'Limp Mode' and I also noticed I hear a clicking noise coming from the block.

The last thing I did to the car was replace a single coil in the block that was buggered.. Could this have any relation?

Also in regards to the trans-cooler, theres nothing on the invoice about a trans cooler... is there any way of checking if fluid has leaked, or if I have a transcooler at all?

You will be able to tell you have a aftermarket transcooler by looking at the trans lines on the drivers side of the radiator there silver if there hooked into the radiator it's a stock coil and I have seen the revised coil leak aswell

Aswell as that was it new factory coils you put in because aftermarket coils are notoriously bad

My btr went into limpmode... When the oil pan was dropped bayswater trans found one of the connectors came off.

Plugged it back in and went back to normal.

Im not saying all of yours are disconnected but worth a look, and doesnt cost a fortune.
