I'm about to make a purchase on my first turbo car and I've been thinking about mods already. I'm thinking that I just want to get a cat-back, growler CAI and tune. The car in question is a BA MK2 xr6 turbo, 6 speed manual with 120,000kms. I was wondering with these three mods, would I HAVE to look at injectors, fuel pump and springs or should I get a reliable 220-230 RWKW without them? I'm not after massive power clearly, just after a sweet induction noise and exhaust. (Call me stupid but that's what I like.) I only really have up to $2000 to spend which is why I ask the question. Any help would be much appreciated. Edited 18/09/13 03:31 AM by turbojosh Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/86286-ba-mk2-question/ Share on other sites

I'd through a set of injectors at it anyway though, you will want more once you get the bug... I've heard it's very addictive ones it bites! For someone like me who is coming off their P's and driving a laser, I think that sort of power will be more than enough for me for a good while anyways. These cars are quite heavy and handle like boats around corners especially after having driven a little FWD hatch. Would some suspension work fix it up a bit or not worth it? It's not going to be a track car or anything... just a weekender Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/86286-ba-mk2-question/#findComment-1426173 Share on other sites

In order IMO:Tyres first. Then hunt down a second hand cat back exhaust ( come up on the forum) or just cut out the first muffler for a bit of a "note" . . . . . just so we can hear you coming. Then price up a tune. If you have enough money do the air intake at that time as well.( A few factory F6 floating around 2nd hand which work fine). That will give you around 270 - 280 at the engine - enough to get use to for a while. Replacing the middle mufflers with a set of resonators like BRK said will give it a little more note without making it unroadworthy. IMHO hold off on the tune until you are ready to pay for valve springs, injectors, walbro in tank pump, cat converter and depending on previous owner possibly clutch.
