Hey guys recently purchased a 2002 BA mk1 xr6 turbo. Noticed lately that it has lost some severe performance issue but its a intermediate problem. Has been rebuilt less than 30k kms ago and has crow valve springs. basically stock with a turbo smart BOV and a flash tune

The problem seems to be under WOT it lacks serious power, 9 times out of 10. every now and then it will go awesome, but most of the time its very sluggish and, Its been flashed tuned and the boost gauge seems to fluctuate between 13-15 psi when under full boost. Had it scanned by a friend and o2 sensor is all over the place so it needs to be replaced, but is this causing the loss of power?

is it supposed to be boosting to 13-15 psi?

otherwise it could be loose exhaust manifold or leak between turbo and throttle body.

did it get tuned properly or just one of the premade ones on the flash tuner?

Id take it down to him if I were you, he will sort you out and he tries to save you money unlike a lot of other mechanics around.

might even give you a couple things to check if you talk to him on the phone.

Took it to bruce the other day, found a split throttle body hose.... replaced it but still the same, Clean boost solenoid up and replaced hosing, Had it put on a few different "scan tools" OBD2, FORscan and got no errors. Took BOV off to see if that was the problem, no different. Turbo and a little bit of play but nothing major but the intake piping has quite a bit of "blowby" oil??. He also told me that car has 60lb injectors, possible fuel pump upgrade and typhoon rods.

20/9/2013- Car started a bit off a misfire on my way home. only did it for the last 10 minutes of the drive, was spluttering at around 3500-4000rpm. Bought new genuine plugs witch I plan on gaping to 0.8.

Replaced so far:

Air filter

TB rubber

02 sensor
