I was that way once (I work in IT), now I can do a fair few basic things on my car. Slowly mind you and I still manage to stuff things up. Have done pads and rotors a couple times now, fitted my own suspension too. Plenty of reading and re-reading of forum threads and how-to guides, hassling people who have half a clue like Ralph, IH8Toads, Senna_T and many others has got me to the point I'm at now... just knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. :)

Brakes sound very wrong though. I wonder if you have race spec pads like was mentioned, terrible when cold. Interested to see what it is.

I have a lot of pad experience.

.....and not the feminine hygiene kind... :)

It's definitely the pads.

Trust me, it's the pads.

Did I say it's the pads?

Don't trust that mechanic and the Brembo rep either knows stuff all or simply wants a pad sale.

2 choices:

1. Go to a 100km/h zone with little traffic behind you for a long way.

Do 5 X 100km/h to 50km/h stops.

Don't be shy, jump on that pedal.

If ABS doesn't activate you aren't pushing hard enough.

2. If that doesn't improve things and probably won't then buy some other pads.

PM me if you want another option.

I have heaps of half worn Brembo pads that will get you out of trouble in the mean time if required.

Pick your spot well as once you start you can't stop and you look and feel like a total whack job doing it :turboboink: :turboboink: :turboboink:

But you do get to hammer the loud pedal a whole bunch too!
