I ordered my XR6T without the Turbo badge, as without it you really cant tell the difference.

I had enough problems with wankers wanting to race all the time when I owned V6 Capri's.............

Its also handy when you do see there faces when they think they have just been blown away by a standard XR6, when the timing is right of course...... :smilielol:

VG, how about taking off the Turbo badge?

I get the ricers (ful sik skyline maaaaaate) and the roscoe's (v8 VK moit!) a fair bit around here. I usually have a bit of fun when they are sitting next to me at the lights. If they sit there revving and standing on the brakes etc I like to give a bit of a rev and pretend I'm keen. Then, as they go tearing off the lights like a maniac, I putt away casually laughing my head off as some goon pulls away in there VK blowing smoke and sounding like a tractor....

Get it all the time, I haver seen so many wankers wanting to race. First week I had the car I couldn't resist obiging the odd fool, these days I let them burn their rubber and won't give them the satisfaction.

It's not just my ugly face either, the other 40% drives the car occasionally and gets the same thing. She claims it is the only thing she does not like about the car; the idiots it attracts.

The worst offenders are subarspews and standard six cylinder commodes.

Owning a 12second street car puts the power of the T in perspective.

Either I dont get many guys wanting to run me in the T, or I'm not looking for it and miss the clowns all together.

But in my escort, now that's a different story! Brap, brap and :smilielol: to Mr.Ricers.

If I see someone doing something ridiculous when I'm driving then I can book them when I get to work. We are still coppers 24/7.

VG,

your responses are always appreciated...can I ask you a question? I hope so coz I am gonna ask anyways :)

lets say a copper on duty is driving an unmarked vehicle, can that officer wind down his window and challenge another driver to a speedy getaway and 300m down the road pull the driver over or would this be considered entrapment?

I realise it is a diff. story if the other driver is the instegator...what then?

cheers

Was going through a roundabout on the outside lane (double lanes) and I overtake a VL turbo sh*tbox. It had all the dialls etc but looked like sh*t, when I overtook he floored leaving rubber (while travelling at about 60klicks) I then pulled in behind him, and he slowed right down, must have thought I was a cop.

There was no doubt it was worked but the car is a piece of sh*t! It was almost stalling afterwards and blowing blue smoke. Way to treat your car!

I've waited to be at the lines with neon lighted lowered massive rear winged pulsars etc but it hasn't happened. Would love to blow dirt in their face.

Gungahlin drive seems to attract them... When I lived out that way before the days of Bruce (and having either the Chrysler or the Clio Sport) they'd be around trying to out corner, out-roundabout and generally show off. Both cars were quick enough on the street to hold their own and thanks to good suspension could be driven in correct lanes through roundabouts without dropping speed.

One thing I always enjoyed was suckering them with the Clio. Approach corner/roundabout at insane speed, they'd follow or be next to the car... and play chicken for late braking from nutter type speed.... Not much outbrakes a Clio Sport (Falcon sized brakes, ABS/EBD and just over 1000kg to stop) and certainly nothing I found up in that area...

Then theres the clown witht he S14... don't get me started on him...

Entrapment is really a term that is bandied about by Americans way too much and is only relevant to the criminal law, and wouldnt have such an application in traffic law......however.....if a copper challenges you to race, and you oblige, I suggest he has committed the same offence as you.

Australian Road Rules allow us to break the law in the execution of our duty. I'd suggest that challenging someone to a race, and later pulling them over and booking them for it isnt in the spirit of the legislation and is not only irresponsible, but draws the Police 'down to the same level' as the monkey that challenges them to a race. I would hope that an intelligent Police officer wouldnt do such a thing and trust me, if I got booked for it I would be pleading not guilty and discussing things along the lines of incitement rather than entrapment.

Other guy starts it then, as you say, shoe is on the other foot
