maiseyF6 Member 19 Member For: 12y 8m Posted 10/09/13 10:06 AM Share Posted 10/09/13 10:06 AM ok so I've had my 07 bf mkII phoon for coming up three years and am now quite bored with the horsepower (stock)so after a bit of reading and a few phone calls I've come up with a game plan. ive already ordered (b here in couple weeks) a process west intercooler and intake, aswell as a process west surge tank and high pressure pump. next pay I'll be buying an exhaust and injectors and then it will b off to get tuned. QUESTION: my understanding, from what ive heard from other owners, is that I'll b quite happily achieving about 450hp at the treads, then other people have told me valve springs are a MUST, and wastegate flapper mod is also a MUST. can somebody please shed some light on this? cheers :]p.s limit on what the bf conrods can put up with? if anybody knows? Some people go further some less. And at that power a wastegate port will hold boost much flatter through the top end. For Eg I have almost the same mods and can't run under 17psi up top cause of too small of wastegate Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/86216-bf-typhoon-manual-horsepower-hunting/#findComment-1423593 Share on other sites

And the waste gate to control boost you will get a happy 350kw like mine after that with the mods you do very streetable and a chit load of fun Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/86216-bf-typhoon-manual-horsepower-hunting/#findComment-1423683 Share on other sites

You also have the last of the bfs so you have the strong rods Edited 10/09/13 07:25 PM by freeze_dk Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/86216-bf-typhoon-manual-horsepower-hunting/#findComment-1423686 Share on other sites
maiseyF6 Member 19 Member For: 12y 8m Posted 11/09/13 06:20 AM Author Share Posted 11/09/13 06:20 AM Ok sweet cheers guys. So what valve springs is everyone running? I was looking at the atomic 80 pounders. Also I was told today that there's a dude in Perth that does external gate mods to these cars and ends up quite functional apparently. I was thinking of doing that and plus having a screamer which I've wanted since day dot anyways. then no over boosting dramas either. While im on the topic has anyone done an oil pump upgrade to their car?
