For more drama get a ball joint replaced and hope they leave off the wheel nuts when you drive it away.  Does the job!

Woah.

Also was it warm murdok?

The xcals are notorious for bricking especially mine!!

Get an ice pack for the xcal and a jump from another car running helps

Ahaha steve yeah that guy knows how to write build thread.

Matty the back of the xcal behind the screen was red hot. I might try the ice pack or cold drink on the back of it. I bought a new optima battery because I was sure it was my old battery, which was on its last legs, causing this but nope still sh*ts itself.

Are xcal 4s better?

XCAL4 = XCAL3 + XCAL2. Not necessarily better for anything other than the logging features that the XCAL2 has/had.

Haven't heard a lot about uploading tunes from XCAL4's failing like XCAL3's do, but I'd guess that they have similar issues as the change from 3 to 4 wasn't a drastic one other than the physical shape haha... @ratter might be able to shed some insight?

xcal2 FTW lol

I only change tunes when I swap from 98 to e85 or vice versa but never a drama

Plug it in and get it started, start filling, tune loads before tank is half full
