Shattered, Repair Bill?

May want to have the car scanned before to determine what it will actually need in terms of modules/pretensionsers. You will need to have either front or rear screen removed to fit the new roof lining which will set you back $120ish plus any windscreens moulds.

Expect to pay around 2 hours labour $180ish to have you car measured on a car-o-liner or equivalent measuring and realigning system to assure all your suspension mounting points are undamaged. This will also require both sill covers to be removed so then theres the associated clips with that as fg sill covers are a pain.

From the pictures I highly doubt that the pillar will be damaged so your best bet would be buying a 2nd hand black door shell as to skin the rear door is still going to cost you $300 plus the skin price. Then you have the r&r's including part dismantle front door, full d/a rear door, part da near side quarter trims including bar release and your sill skirt if not charged above. Looking at around $400 for the outer trims and around $220 to swap the roof lining over.

For paint as a general guide budget around $300 per panel, obviously smaller panels will be less but then you also have your booth and bake time of $90 and mix and match of $50.

Also we pay $90 for scan and reset codes.

Don't take this as a gospel either, this is just rattling off a few costs as far as I can see from the photos so can you can get a rough idea.

I went over this morning and had a good butchers hook at the rig - he is very lucky! I think, upon impact, the wheel has violently torn downwards, and tore the rear suspension down and 'outwards' if that makes sense. I was mostly concerned with rail damage and the panel gaps, they all appear fine. The door and sill have damage, but it was from the pole, definitely cosmetic and not structural. The roof gap is excellent, boot/quarter gap is fine, both doors open n shut well, and no sill damage besides the plastic skirt.

I suggested he chuck a rear cradle in it, new control arm, and see if it wheel aligns up all right. I reckon it will. Definitely no point chucking it up on a rack to check measurements, there is no damage to the rails, floor, towers etc. if you were super fussy, if it was a insurance job, and had plenty of money to spare, sure, chuck it up on a measuring bed, but he justs wants to get mobile again, so he can resume work. Once it is at the wheel aligners, I'm sure it will become quickly evident if there is more damage, but he will need a new cradle anyway, so it's not as if he is wasting money.

If I wasn't so damn busy this weekend I'd head over and help him change over the hood lining and airbags, and anything else, but I've got my sons christening, and apparently I have to look after relatives or some chit....

Does anybody know of anywhere that do good alloy wheel repairs? Even his alloys would repair up ok, I've seen a lot worse get repaired, and balance up fine. None of the lips of the alloys have fractured, all of his tyres retained air, which should be a good indication of how hard he has hit the kerb (not that hard).

agree with the wheel alignment Vs jig, but not a toe and go type wheel aligner, it needs to go to a suspension specialist that understands and checks the various measurements

It will need to go to a proper wheel alignment specialist, like wholesale suspension in penriff, who are willing to go through everything, and willing to work with you, not against you.
