Hi Peter,

I am very interested in the phase 1 plug in at the $1650 but does this price include injectors if not what coin will I need to get them along with the phase 1.

:ta:  for all the time and knowledge you have provided. As soon as the plug in is ready im there!!

Jimmy

Jimmyboy, The plug in loom , UNICHIP and matched set of of 440cc injectors PHASE 1.5 will be approx $2600 installed and tuned if all goes to plan.

Hi Peter,

My plans with my XRT are either a stage 1.5 or stage 2 APS kit with a PWR bolt-on BA Intercooler.

Will this work? In theory it should as the stage 1.5 & 2 kit come with everything so I can have a proper working cooler.

Has anyone fitted a PWR bolton cooler yet?

Are they good quality?

Sorry Peter I would get the phase3 kit with the APS cooler but phase2 kit is enuff power and the PWR cooler is only $825.

Thx

EVLXR6 Thanks for your post its good to know what you would like to do to the xr6t. The PHASE II is really awesome if your budget goes that far, if not the PHASE 1.5 is a good stepping stone to the PHASE II system. I dont have any experience with the pwr cooler so I wont make any comment until I have checked the intercooler for air temp and pressure drop reductions. Good luck with your project hope you have a hoot of a time.

I use the pwr intercooler on my car. It works very well for the intended application, with negligible pressure drop. It is a part of the standard Nizpro kit.

I can get stats if required.

I currently have phs 2 but I am wanting more, much more actually. I want my car to be a daily driver with no issues and initially I was going to upgrande from 2 to 3 but now that im on a good behavier licence for a year my car wont get any power upgrades till around november so skipping phase 3 and going staight to phase 4 is what I will probably will be doing.

unless phase 5 is out by then and its suitible for a daily driver doing 800km a week.

with the auto upgrades, will there be phases like the power upgrades and when will we be seeing these. also some hints on what to do to make our standard gear boxes last will be handy to know.

after my car lease is up ill be up for a new car, so ill be taking the beast off the road and fully going pretty hard core with it hoping to acheive around a 9 sec pass. but until then I want as much power as posible without my car being unreliable.

Hi BRIAN ,Well that's my opinion and we are all entitled to that. If strong low to mid range torque is required I would prefer to stay with the stock ford xr6t inlet manifold, or if chasing more torque (and we have plenty down low now) I would design the manifold for that purpose. My point is that there is little benefit if any benefit ( at around the 350 Kw level ) in changing the inlet manifold and I stand by my previous comments, the APS PHASE III system utilises the stock inlet manifold and the power/torque curves are awesome. The system might make the power you claim with the stock exhaust though with very high exhaust back pressure and I have been around turbo charged engines long enough to know the end result of this very high back pressure and the effect on engine components and engine life.In any event if owners are prepared to take the risk and run high B/P at high power levels(350 PLUS Kw) then that's their choice, all I am saying is that its very hard on engine internals and this can be avoided by installing a low restriction exhaust system.

Peter,

I went both ways, the modified inlet & manifold, plus a custom very low restriction exhaust similar to APS (remember you wouldn't sell me an exhaust), so I don't need high boost to make my current power... so good for low and top end power..... alas I just need a gearbox to handle it!

thanks,

Brian.

Brian no worries, maybe you should go for the T56 trans upgrade. Let me know when you do and what you think.

Like you said Peter, we all have different approaches and different opinions. I don't think Nizpro or ChipTorque's suggestion is that changing the exhaust as well as the Inlet Manifold etc. won't make power or decrease exhaust back pressure. Simply that it can be done with the standard exhaust if you couldn't stand a different exhaust note. If you do the exhaust as well as the Nizpro mods (as BCL did) you should get another 40-50kW at the wheels.

The point is, with the Nizpro pipework and intercooler (it is different to the PWR unit Brian, it's crossflow) and the Inlet manifold change, the throttle response and low end torque is much better than on the standard manifold.

I'm sure the forum members benefit considerably from different companies taking different approaches to tuning and upgrades. It's great that Australia has some really professional tuning companies and that we each take different approaches to performance enhancement.

BTW BCL, I've had the T56 in my drive car now for almost a year.

I'll take 350rwkw .... nice round figure .... with 1600kg ...... :gooff:

throw in a TKO 5 speed, hd clutch and 4.1 at the rear

sounds like a good road car

btw, I know the T56 is strong but it is as refined as sugar cane (IMHO) whereas the TKOs have the serious runs on the board (and not just on the road)

Let me know when the TKO is in and how it drives. It's always nice to have other options when you have to transmit LOTS of torque :gooff:
