Xede seem to have an extra 10kw than the unichip, is that a big difference???? I don't know but at this stage I am heading towards you guys as you are heavily supporting this website/club and are regular contributors! Just have to finalise putting the money together :banghead: , probably will have to be around April as the missus won't be happy me spending those bucks before our wedding! Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/8617-how-much-power-do-you-want/page/2/#findComment-84316 Share on other sites

How much have you got?! Too much is never enough in my books, though I want a reliable and driveable car. I have driven BCL's Nizpro kitted XR6T with ~330rwkw and it was awesome, made my stock T feel like a Datsun 120Y afterwards, and realistically would probably be enough but over a period of time you get used to the power and would probably want more. The main power limit is probably the back pocket, otherwise the sky is the limit. Other factors of course insurance and who is going to drive the car, a lot of guys probably aren't keen to have their wives or g/fs unleashed in their 350kw+ machine. Then there's the drivetrain to consider, as we know the standard gearbox/trans aren't designed to cope with too much more power and torque over stock, but Iknow you guys are working on a solution to that as well.Seems like APS are on the right track, with different levels of power options and costing you seem to have pretty much all bases covered. Dont know the Dyno increases but after each addition there was noticeable increases in both power and smoothness of delivery particularly through low - mid revs. All in all pretty reasonable so far as the beast seems to breath betterNext Step is APS stage 1 kit with plug in & injectors in late Feb.Looking for ~ 280 - 290 kw , is this realistic. Would also be interested to know what additional gains are achievable with APS zorst fitted at the same time ?Thanks heaps for all the great info postedWHITE TEE Thanks for your post. The UNICHIP with the right injectors (BOSCH multi orifice type) will make 280 to 290KW on 98 ron fuel quite easily. At this power level the back pressure in the exhaust is starting to get high ,so your thoughts on the exhaust system fitment is spot on. With the APS exhaust fitted on top of the UNICHIP and injectors and retuned to suit the the new low B/P exhaust system 320Kw is very likely in fact this very close to the PHASE II product specs. PHASE II less the fuel pump and APS cold air inlet . Keep the info coming its great to view.PETERAPS Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/8617-how-much-power-do-you-want/page/2/#findComment-84328 Share on other sites
Guest Basher_tsv Guests Posted 20/01/04 06:07 AM Share Posted 20/01/04 06:07 AM Am I out of place to ask for some very simple pricing for each phase? As in Phase 1 = approx ??kw and $????'s ?I realise this is very open ended as to mods and options but I feel I am flying a bit blind and comparing numbers is hurting my brain... Value for money wise roughly $1500 will get you 280-300kw for stage 1, this seems to be best value for money. Some people I.e. AVO would offer this for around $3k.Best two I have come accross is Unichip & Xede for arond the $1500.Obviously we all want more power but these two seem to be good value. Beyond that, spend $30k on a proper race car.Speaking of a proper race-car, how about a Phase 4 type deal in a dragster?350+kw and 600kgs should be good for 8's. Anyone got 2 or 3 spare bare motors available for development? I need a beer. Not at all. PHASE I will take the power to 270 to 280Kw depending on how strong/good the base engine is. At this power level (280 kw) the stock fuel injectors are flat out, so to go further the stock injectors will need to be replaced with larger multi orifice injectors the current price for PHASE I is $1650 installed and custom tuned with b4 and after power graphs. PHASE II is $5650 installed and tuned and generates 330KW of power. Now go and have a cold beer for me as well.PETERAPS Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/8617-how-much-power-do-you-want/page/2/#findComment-84342 Share on other sites
