Xrdreaming has/had a phase II. I think its in the moddle of becoming phaseIII. I saw him run a 12.6 at Calder and he seemed very happy with it. It could be worthwhile sending Dean a PM and asking him for his thoughts.Geea.

In the end I decided that I wanted a bit of my own individuality that is why I went the way I did. If I was based in Queensland I would have definately gone with Chiptorque as that is where they are based. You could give Lachlan at Chiptorque a ring and see what he has to offer. It would also be a good idea to talk to Peter at APS and see who he recommends in Queensland. Geea.
Guest Basher_tsv Guests Posted 15/04/04 10:24 AM Share Posted 15/04/04 10:24 AM I'll gladly let you know the total cost of the kit once I know Worpor had posted it in his topic I think ...I had 5650 in my head but I have to add freight and I also got the plug-in loom so that will also add a little ... I have not had the chance to figure out the total value with the tuner yet but will asap! I have paid 4500 so far just to order the kit. (I'll post my costs in my topic.)I like your mods geea ... very sweet and cost effective! Cheers,B.
aps Member 1,505 Member For: 21y 7m 30d Posted 18/04/04 12:59 AM Author Share Posted 18/04/04 12:59 AM Peter,My xr6 ute is 4k's old. Im loooking for a little bit more performance for passing etc. Its not used fro track days or quarter sprints. What would an upgrade cost keeping the vehicle as close to stock as I can without compromising mechanical reliability.Regards Mate sorry for my delayed reply I have just returned from a busy O/S trip and I have not had a chance to get near a computer. Now to your question. The best power upgrade (most stealth and cost effective) is definitely the Unichip computer. This is the pracital place to start (best bang for buck) when chasing better overall road performance whilst retaining civilised driveability with total engine reliability. Also If you intend to increase engine power further down the path its necessary to have control of the three important parameters, that is ignition timing, air/fuel ratio, and turbo pressure....the Unichip computer delivers on all three counts. The new UNICHIP with plug in loom adaptor is now available so there is no requirement to cut or solder into the ECU loom, this makes the entire installation quick and neat and allows the tuner to spend his time on the important issue which is tuning the engine to perfection. I trust this answers your question, as there are many ways to increase power, though this approach is in my opinion the best method to do so. Is it easily removed by the owner, or does it need to be removed professionally and then retuned again when reinstalled.2. What would be the cost of the phase one chip and injectors, and would the standard exhaust system handle this power upgrade?3. Does aps have a recommended installer in the toowoomba area? Toowoomba is in queensland.Thanks.

Toowoomba is in queensland.Thanks.Mate thanks for your questions, these are frequently asked questions by customers so your not on your own. 1) It is very easy to remove the Unichip computer if you have the plug in loom adaptor which is included in the new APS phase I system. The fuel injectors would also need to be replaced if the car /engine is to be returned to stock condition though there is no need to retune or reset the stock Ford computer. 2) The installed and tuned cost of the phase I system ( Unichip, plug in loom adaptor, and larger multi orifice 4 valve injectors) is $2596 inc GST with before and after power graphs. The phase I system can be installed with the stock Ford exhaust system though a much higher and consistent power increase can be achieved if used in conjunction with a true low restriction low back pressure exhaust system such as the APS full turbo back system. Of course you can add the exhaust system at a later date if you are chasing higher power from your T3)If your in QLD I would recommend you contact one of our Brisbane Unichip dealers which are listed on the APS website, or send me a PM if you would like to discuss this in more detail. This would be a great toe-in-the-water aproach that means if the customer wants to go further they can buy the injectors, exhaust ect and then have a re-tune or if they dont like it they can just take it off and return it to standard. The other area it would be good as a kit that can just be instaled by any good mechanic as no dyno tuning would be needed as long as you stuck the whole kit on and didnt do any other mods. This is call the APC ecu only pack and is about $1650. If you want the (new) stage 1 kit it is about $2650 and includes injectors and ecu.All of the above is needed if/when you go to stage 2-
