But appears to me that the QLD gov is still paddling upstream as badly as it was years ago when it had 14k more staff..

Although I don't think labour fans are "retards", I can't see how people think that a government that costs businesses money is going to create more jobs. IMO it will merely devalue the Aussie dollar, and scare business owners. These seem to be difficult times we are in at the moment and I am glad we have a liberal government. In saying that, I think that was Abotts first speech without a nation wide blunder.

Excellent outcome all round I think, and having a few minors in the senate should make for sensible government - which would be a nice change. I'm also absolutely fcking ecstatic that we won't have the slimy smarmy little *beep* on the tv all the time now. Barry Cassidy (a former labor staffer BTW) summed it up best this morning. After the worst result in 100 years for the Labor party Rudd still declares a victory. Egotistical maniac. But sadly it looks like I've still got Swanny (who is practically an independant...has removed all reference to the Labor party on his branding) representing me and perhaps Palmer has won his seat. The later scares me immensely but am also quietly looking forward to watching his antics in parliament (if he ever actually turns up and doesn't get ejected immediately)

It's a win all round for me. Pretty much exactly what I wrote on my ballot paper happened. And no mine wasn't the one with the marvellous drawing of abbot taking a cock through his head. AMEP winning a seat means hopefully we as a community have a say in parliament and because of the fact the Coalition haven't won a majority in the senate it gives them a hell of a lot more sway when it comes time to push Abbott's changes through. Time will tell though.
