Hi guys I got a DSC fault warning a while ago on my FG. did some research on the forum and I cleaned the wheel sensors and it hasn't come back but more recently an airbag fault come up as well. I scanned the error code with torque app and it came up with B1318 body

Ive also noticed that ABS seems to randomly engage at times when braking and sometimes it doesn't when going along the same stretch of road at the same speed

On top of that the gearbox (auto) started flaring when I got the DSC fault and hangs onto the gear longer instead of upshifting when in drive

I changed to wider wheels and tyres around 6 months ago and it was all good at first no errors but then suddenly the errors started about a month ago

I tried to keep the overall diameter of the tyres as close as possible to the previous ones

Was running 245/35/19 - OD = 654.1mm

Now 245/40/18 OD - 653.20mm - 0.14% slower

and 285/35/18 OD - 656.70mm - 0.40% faster

Don't try any parts just yet.

Get a piece of chalk. place a vertical line across the tire and onto the ground to mark the start of the tire rotation, roll the car forward until the mark on the tire is vertical and mark the ground.

Do the same for front and rear then measure the distance between the two lines. Im willing to bet the rears have worn down to the point that the variance is >5% and this is what is causing your issue.

Thanks Ralph will have to find some chalk and give that a go.

Can Ford adjust / recalibrate the ECU to take the new tyre sizes?

The DSC error hasn't come back since I cleaned the wheel sensors though. Could that cause the airbag fault too?
