I try and use the SUV as a shield too, but you have to be weary, as sometimes you can get caught out when they change lanes and exit the motorway...leaving you exposed to the meteor shower...lol

Very true, very true!

I wish I'd bought the bonnet and headlight protectors all those years ago.

I'd rather not drive around with a car bra on. It would need to be taken off and cleaned under regularly as I drive it 5 to 6 days a week, look odd, block airflow a bit and besides the damage is done already :)

Mate, I can't help but hang back from trucks and when I get that clear run, give it a boot full to pass em!

I've even got pitting on edges of the rear doors where they meet the front from road rash.

Im about to respray the front of mine for the 4th time since 2010. Just covered in chips realy bad. I live in a mining area. Contractor utes and trucks driving off sites dropping dirt, mud and rocks everywhere. Its a real pain. Even with none in sight there is that much junk on the roads the traffic just tosses it all around.

RynoF6, out of curiosity what sort of cost are we talking about to respray the front end?...we talking bumper/ guards /bonnet?

GeGe6, I have exactly the same pitting on the rear doors as yourself, the way things are going my whole car will be covered in touch up paint...lol

Hate stone chips with a passion

Had the front of my FG covers with the 3M stone guard film from new. bumper, bonnet ,headlights and mirrors.

30k later not one stone chip

Well worth the investment in my opinion

That sounds good, clear contact or spray on? How obvious to look at? Can't see it at all in the avatar.
