we have not had one in a car for 20000 klms yet, but it would be time based issue if the ethanol was affecting the filter, any filter can be blocked fairly quickly if there is rubbish in the tank, that is not a fault of the filter just the filter doing it's job

All good Mick, the genuine ford filter is what I use now, I just change it every service (10,000klms) and it seems to be doing the job.

I can still blow through it, and when I cut it open it does not look swollen and the glue still looks in tact.

Anything else I should be looking at?

sounds like it is working ok

Yeah, just a bit of a pain changing it every service, if I could get a drop in filter that can take ethanol for 20,000klms I'd only have to change it every second service.

I believe there ok, the first 2 filter changes are going to be within a month of each other just to catch the crap in the tank and the lines.
