Oh so that's why my mirror is loose now.

I have a manual fg turbo mkii and noticed when overtaking someone today in 3rd a pretty noisy metal on metal rattle, sounded it was coming from the gearbox area. Car drove and shifted fine and only happened under the hard load. I very rarely put my foot down so this is the first time I have noticed it. I know there is a common rattle on cold start up but never experienced anything like this when driving. Car has had an easy  driving life and 52,xxx km.

I've developed a vibration under heavy power as well, but it feels like either the tailshaft or something at the rear I think.  I need someone to check it out in person though, pretty hard to diagnose over the net I reckon.  I'm wondering about getting tailshaft checked for balance.  Diff is also 311,000km old and might not be helping matters...

Nah there's a bit of a wobbly feeling at times cruising but pretty minor, could be one of the rims that I'm told won't balance 100% - this new thing is shaking under high power acceleration.  Only started happening in the last 2 weeks but might be getting worse so I'm looking out for it.  Should probably take it easy until it can get proper hoist time to be honest.
