But it depends what's on offer. The Ford Premium brakes are reputed to be quite good and aftermarket pads will improve things as they come available I'm sure. Certainly on a cost basis they're cheap and fill the 17" wheels and offer improvements.ms700s setup is awesome and some others here have also done nice setups ... But the cost weighed across the time span I will have the car has to be factored in. I think a lot of others are in the same position... A. aps Member 1,505 Member For: 21y 11m 15d Posted 20/01/04 03:47 AM Author Share Posted 20/01/04 03:47 AM PRETZEL,well huge one piece rotors would be my current thought as this concept is for a high performance road car not a race car,and I would want to keep the price of the complete brake upgrade, rotors ,calipers, pads, brake lines and fluid to under 3K. There would be little to no advantage for most owners in a two piece hat and rotor arrangement over a one piece rotor when using street type brake pads. Thanks for your input on the brake issue.PETERAPS

My 2 cents.Fabian
Guest Gilto Guests Posted 20/01/04 08:18 AM Share Posted 20/01/04 08:18 AM Hi Peter,Great idea to come out with some decent brakes. I would pay around $2500 for the big brake setup.AP racing have a front setup for just over $3000 which is AWESOME but it is a lot to pay for brakes!!I would prefer the package aimed at 18's but you have to be realistic of the market. 17's are the only option!! That will keep the price down too which helps! Here's an idea.............What about an "APS Performance Package"?? Stage 2 power upgrade + big brakes for a special combined price??????Gilto! AMoffat Member 744 Member For: 22y 2m 15d Posted 20/01/04 11:03 AM Share Posted 20/01/04 11:03 AM Red sounds good to me. If $1500 was possible I would snap them up immediately, however, $3k may be more realistic for a BIG setup, but considering the majority of these cars don't do track work, I'm not sure how many people will fork out that much. $1500 would be my limit I think as I was considering a relatively minor brake upgrade anyway which would cost less than this. DBA slotted and better pads.Cheers, Chris I agree with cdm...The high end of brake upgrades is already catered for. Wouldn't there be more money (read volume) in lower end enhancements? As an average punter I was thinking of not taking the car too far from stock, so Phase 1 chip, DBA rotors and after market pads.On the 17 versus 18 issue. I could be wrong but wouldn't most people who ordered the 18's ex factory have also bought the Premium Brakes?

One of my customers has removed the driving lights (after getting 2 fines for driving with them on) and fitted some 3" ducted hose to the inner disc area.......works a treatsorry for the thread hijack.........I'll go back into my box now. I think I've seen that kit Dattoman. There is a 6 pot AP too.I also know someone working on a ventilated rear and AP's for the 17"s .................
