The front are being cast aside.I dont understand the technical feasibility af doing that, but its an idea...This may be possible though it depends on the piston size of the caliper, remember we must match up to the stock ford master cylinder, and we dont want to much rear brake bias other wise the rear end might over take the front end, which would be an exciting experience .PETERAPS

How would this kit compare to the ford premiums in stopping power?I think the breaks are the worst part of the T.

I would expect the setup to be better than the Ford Premium front pair - or run a cheap/more common pad etc ...A.

It's only $50-100 and would be a good indicator of when to cool them down a bit.

Ford's handbrake mechanism uses the inside of the rotor as a "drum" setup for the handbrake.Dont insist on price when it comes to brakes. I spent big bucks on my setup, and it by far and away the best coin I ever spent. The brakes were the worst thing about my car, now they are the best. I'll need a brake upgrade when I fit the mods later this year....I'm sticking with 17's. (more cost effective)Red calipers are fine; can always paint a different colour if desired... Cost? Hmmm, I'm a bit of a tight-ar$e, so I'm always looking for the best value which is practical and effective. On-going costs re replacement pads is also an issue.... Got a shock when I overheard the GT (Brembo brake) pads alone cost several thousand to replace! Peter, if you keep coming up with practical, effective and reliable solutions at a decent cost for all us rev-heads, you'll need to open a bank account in the Cayman Islands. luv your work!cheers, tom

Yoda Member 131 Member For: 21y 4m 29d Gender: Male Location: Country Victoria Posted 19/01/04 11:44 PM Share Posted 19/01/04 11:44 PM for front brakes I'd be thinking about $1500 tops, which I'd reckon would have to be 4-pot calipers & pads to suit the hi-po brake rotorsand maybe recycling the front calipers on the rear with smaller brake pads... (edit...definately a great idea))definately to suit the 17's cause I will not be upgrading to 18's due to cost of replacing rubber... Cheers,Matt This sound like the best idea to me. I will have 18's but think most would prefer a verrrryyyyy tight fit under the 17's I feel price needs to be around the $1500 mark. Thanks for thinking of it Peter
