Sounds good Peter

Will this brake set consist of fronts and rears, or as mentioned above recycling of the fronts.

Will it use the Ford Master cylinder, ford lines, or will it consist of totally new equipment and braided lines.

I know you probably cant release too much info, but some info would be good so I can start lobbying the Minister of Finance for when my next tax cheque comes along :D

Also, please dont use crossed drilled, I'll crack them

Don't forget teh Ford Premium Brake option is quite good in price when bought after market... something like $1400 for calipers, $200 for lines and then a pair of DBA discs...

At least that's my poor memory of posts here, I can't the stuffed looking them up ;)

Personalyl I feel this setup is the one to beat the Ford Calipers come with pads so all you gotta do is add discs and those slightly different lines....

HI Peter

17" for me.... I can't afford 18" of rubber every 8 months.

I would pay approx 1500- 2000 for new good brakes as it the only point that so far I feel can be better in the car (for the money).

my 2 cents worth.

Peter,

the bigger rims need big disc rotors to fill the void .... just a comment

I'm going for a larger disc in the Stanger cause the 330 brembo looks too small :banghead:

cheers

17" should be plenty big enough, V8 Supercars only run 17s and they don't seen to have any problems. Then you've got a one size fits all deal and as you say you can better negotiate a volume discount with your supplier(s).

Hey guys, Some excellent feedback keep it coming the more input from the forum the greater chance there is to get the brake package specified correctly. I dont currently think that's there is any need to play with the rears though much testing is required before making an absolute statement. The new brake calipers will be matched to suit the stock ford master cylinder and the front rotors replaced with huge ventilated rotors. we will look at the brake lines during the development and if required replace the stock lines with teflon lined braided brake lines if there is an advantage to do so. Your input is greatly appreciated so start pounding on the key board.

What about the idea mentioned above about moving the front calipers (and ventilated disks) to the rear? The front are being cast aside.

I dont understand the technical feasibility af doing that, but its an idea...

Not sure that's a good idea, the front (standard) brakes are the ones we have all the trouble with, just moving trouble from front to rear. Dig a big hole and bury them I reckon.
