The interiors of both the updated Territory and Falcon are physically identical to the current SZ and FG Mk2 models. The only obvious differences are seat trim, some interior trim colour changes and the ICC has a complete new SYNC2 interface. Other minor differences are the dash fascia on some models has some minor changes and some of the physical buttons on the ICC are relocated.

so they are not physically identical.

car makers have always done that to re introduce people to their dating cars without having to spend the dollars on an all new model. think vt- (1998)- vz (2006) commo-that was the same body all the way through with upgrades to front and rear and interior.

same with ba/f falcon. an au body with new front and rear hanging panels and different interior.

if ford wasnt axing the falcon I would expect to see another model after the fh using the same body but maybe with an all new interior.

I understand all that, but how much has Ford spent on this update?

on a car which sells bugger all because they don't advertise them or want to sell them anymore?

which will only be available for a 2 years?

perhaps they should have just done an FG3 with more mild changes and dropped the price/thrown in every extra for free, and they would have still been ahead $$$ wise. And make all the punters who buy the last xr8 s/c 5.0 for $40 fully loaded winners.

It pretty much is an FG MK3

FG=>FG MKII was front change, major ICC change and a couple of extra sensors etc

FG MKII=> FG-X is front change, rear change, ICC update and a couple of extra sensors
