I also feel that keeping in line with say the FG X6T, that Expensive Daewoo really doesn't have anything comparable...

The front end of the Late model camira looks nice, the interior "look" is in another league compared to the Ford, but I'm not a real fan of the rear end of the Commodore.

I would still buy the FGX over the Late model camira based purely on the shear pleasure I get out of driving the turbo 6.

Expensive Daewoo might have really revamped, and refined the VF Commodore, but they haven't spent much on the where the heart of the car is, such as range of power plants.

Maybe if they introduced a twin turbo V6 or offered a supercharged V8 option on the standard SS, It would appeal to me more...

Maybe I'm biased as I have always loved turbo charged cars.

This is totally my opinion of course...

It'll be interesting to see how the price of the Mustangs compare with the XRs etc.

I personally couldn't live with that dunnydore interior, way to much going on, sometimes a bit of bland is good.

But I am getting old and can see why younger guys might like it as I probably would have if I was like 19 years old!

Would you buy an FG when you know the new one is due November? Don't think so! Holdens have gone up since the new model and you can expect Falcon to do the same.

I doubt the FGX will crack 1000 sales a month. Ford won't push it like Expensive Daewoo are pushing/advertising the VF. Whats that saying about pushing something up a hill?

They have sacked over half the people on the assembly line so there is only so many Falcons and Territorys they can build.

Also there is word that the German built ZFs are on short supply so there is only so many auto XR8s and XR6Ts they can build.

Zf have discontinued their local production of the 6HP and it will now be produced under contract in china as they are now pushing the 8spd. China will not be producing the hi torque 6HP. Ford Australia bulk bought what zf had left around 6-12 months as they said it wasn't going to be viable to engineer the 8spd into the car.(I know...why?). We are talking the hi torque version though that only the xr8 and t will receive. Other models will get the great wall version.

So it is a valid point, it may limit the number of auto's available. Factory powerglides and th400's maybe??.....

They could always use the ZF-licensed 6R80 that Ford build themselves and use in the diesel territories. In fact that'd be a better option, not quite as refined but tougher and betterer with all those torques. :msm:
