Hey fella's

I know im going to get a lot of slack over this so ill answer the questions before I ask my own.

No I dont want to sell my ute and buy an automatic
Yes I know I know it will be a big job
No I dont want to put a C4 etc into it

Im looking for someone with an auto turbo ute that would be interested in doing a gearbox swap with me. finding out how much it will cost to be done, getting both of us in the same shop and swapping, tailshafts, gearboxes, crossmembers etc...

I brought the ute new and wanted a manual a few years ago. now im not the only person who drives the ute and I want to start making some more power.

If I go making too much more power (its just been tuned for BP98) then it will be a little hard for my Mrs to drive. with an auto I can have my ute how I want and she can still drive it and feel comfortable in it.

if anyone is keen on looking into it with me give me a yell.

Dave

You might have a bit better results if you let everyone know where you are.

Given the expense and scope of what you have planned, I thought I would mention a couple of cheap easy solutions that sprung to mind..

*velcro a block of wood under the accelerator pedal so the missus only has 40% throttle :P

or

*Get your tuner to give you a few tunes to play with. I've got a full power tune and a stock boost tune in the Xcal3. I asked for it just in case I found myself lending the car to a mate or relative.

Anyway, if you press on with the auto swap, good luck with it all.. If I had an auto and was interested I would want to know what box you were offering (5 or 6spd) age, k's and clutch.

Good points, thanks.

Im on Brisbanes North side, I will travel a little if need be.

The ute is a 6 speed manual (like all manual turbos FG's) and has around 45000km's on it.

The clutch is fine in the ute its never been flogged.
