Last night I noticed one of my Parker's was out, so naturally went to see if it was a loose connection or it had blown.

I popped open the bonnet and twisted the parker holder/connector thing only to have the damn thing drop inside the headlight.

How the heck do I get it out? And to make it worse its all the way at the front, which makes it unreachable from screwdrivers with sticky tape lol.

Any ideas? Only thing I can think of is removing the whole headlight and shaking it out.

Ps. Can anyone advise on the easiest way to get a headlight out?

The inside of the lights scratches very easily on the black shiny plastic surface. I'm talking cotton tips make marks on it...at least that's what I found when I installed my angel eyes in the BF - hope for your sake FGs are different!

Having said that, what about coathanger wire with sticky end?

Park facing up a steep hill maybe.

Drop front bar undo screws pull out. (there's two screws underneath behind the bar)

Should only take about an hour or two, you dont have to pull the bar off completely just undo the top screws and the ones in the wheel wells pull it forward and drop it to the ground, helps if somebody else gives you a hand to get it over the inner front bar padding. You may be able to get to the screws without dropping it and just pulling it forward far enough but you risk scratching it as you pull the assembly out.

Be extra careful with the plastic screws though they arent cheap, use a stanley knife to lift them after you release them.

....allow an extra hour for pulling out the air cleaner box when you drop a screw down there. :rant2:

I cracked the normal HIGH/LOW beam globe inside my BF...so I had pieces of bulb everywhere inside the light...the big piece of the bulb was removed by getting a long twig...and some double sided tape residue...the bulb literally stuck to the twig and was pulled out...

The smaller broken pieces were taken out by attaching a piece of garden hose to the vacuum cleaner (attached it with normal gaffer tape) and shoving the garden house in the light assembly and sucking everything out...

Otherwise you have to take your whole light assembly out and etc...

Hey Andreew,

Sorry to hear about that mate. I have a question though - I'd like to change my park globes but I'm not sure how to remove the globe from the black connector.

It felt like it was going to break when I tried to remove it.

Does it just pull straight out or does it twist out?

Hope you get your globe out :spoton:

Cheers,

Dan

Yeah they are the pull out wedge style, like the foot well lights, T10 I think?

Hey guys I have a day off so I'll be giving it a shot today. I like the vacuum and hose idea!

I've been keeping an eye on it and it's moved into the low beam light housing so it should be easier. And I'm lucky because it's on the battery side.. So no mucking around with the air intake!

Wish me luck haha.

I'll upload some photos of the globe when I get it out, it's a standard Parker globe and it's the same type that you find in the interior. The globes I used are 9 part wedge LEDs. They are white 6000k to match the color of my HIDs.

Got the bugger out!

I used long nosed tweezers with a massive wrap of very sticky double sided tape on the end. I attached a length of wire to the other end of the tweezers incase I dropped them.

Installed the parker again and it had died, so I ordered some new bulbs off eBay. They are 6000k white T10 0.5W 9-diode bulbs. I got a lot of 10 of them off eBay for less than $6 delivered. I think I'll be trying them as interior lights too!
