hello all as my thread says my tax money is coming, also ive saved up my money too got 2600 to go on top of my tax money so all together ill have about 7000 ( 8000 if I use my credit card too)... but I should start with the car

its a 08 xr6 turbo auto so far its got adjustable suspension all round ive put on rapids v2 system ( turbo side intake battery relocation intercooler, new piping ) ive also brought a turbosmart 38mm bov Bridgestone re002's all round and a boost gauge waiting to be put on.

my goals are about 300rwkw on 91 and some were around 375-400rwkw on 98 ive had a bit of a look around the site and talked to a few people ive since been putting a parts list together slowly, im just not sure about the turbo I should be buying and prices of a few things

the parts ive been thinking about are, and rough prices( feel free to correct me put in any thorts no matter how small and even opinions on tuners in Townsville and also prices I should be able to get second hand parts at)

xforce 4inch turbo back exhaust $1200

injectors, fuel pump, oil pump, surge tank $1500?

valve springs $900

second hand f6 turbo or gtx3582R $1000-$2600?

xcal3 flash tuner and dyno tune $1750?

dba series 4000 rotors x4 $980
bendix ultimate pads $240

assuming that my prices are close and that I haven't forgot anything

you can see if I go the f6 turbo I can afford it straight up but if I go the gtx ill have to save for a few more months

my main Q's are will the f6 turbo be able to do what I want will it need work on the gate or anything else

is the gtx worth the extra $1600

and is there anything else to add to my parts list and are my prices right

any other help or hints/ tips would be great

and are my power estimates right

is the price for the tune alright

and is there any cheaper way to get what im after

ill be fitting all parts expt injectors valve spring surge tank and the tune will most likely be done by Aitkenvale auto and dyno townsville

He wants to put a 35/40 or gtx on ms. I thought the same then read it again.

He already has rapid cooler sdp

No valve springs in your price list. Add another $1000 installed.

For injectors and surge and pump I'd budget more like $2k. I paid $1300 for pw surge with pump and wiring, $700 for ID1000's then about $300 for those installed

Joe at CMS does the GTX 3582r front housing for around 1650$ delivered to your door. you'll need your rear housing ported and a bigger flapper added. He also does exchanges for your stock one + 350$ for an upgraded housing. + 12psi actuator, around 180-200$?

Probably cost around 200$ for the tuner to swap the smaller turbo setup for the bigger one.

4' xforce turboback cost me 1620$ + 300-400$ to install

1000cc injectors are around 600-700$ + 100-150$ to install

Surge tank with a pump is around 1k brand new. + 200-300$ to install

Tune is around 1500-1700 including the box from most reputable tuners.

Valve springs are 250-300$, + 500$ to install (if you know what you're doing you can save alot of money fitting them yourself.)

I've found on Ebay new force mild steel turbo back for 1120 +40 for postage I should be able to fit it my self , ive got access to a car lift at my brothers work,

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-FG-XR6-Turbo-Sedan-G6E-X-Force-Mild-Steel-4-Turbo-back-System-/151030724706?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item232a21f862

valve springs are on the list ive allowed 900 for them installed

so aaron what your saying I should save up for the gtx 3582R ,ive gotten prices at $2600 for the hole new turbo than id still have the 3540 I could sell/ use on my next project ( ca18det Datsun 1200 that ive been building for a few years now)

I do have a surge tank I could use its currently installed on my datto but its years form being completed so I might pinch it might save a bit of money there ,

what would it take to get to 375-400 mark on 98 , ive seen the standard turbo can do 320-340 on 98 and I live in Townsville and as far as I know e85 isn't at the pump up hear yet if im only gonna get to about 350ish it seems like its not worth the extra money

isn't the older ba, bf, and the fg f6 turbo a gt3582 ive seen a few of them for sale for about $1000 I thought the gtx was just a newer better version

GTX has billet compressor wheel

injectors, fuel pump, oil pump, surge tank $1500? = $1600. Oil pump gears installed will be about $1600

Just tune for 98 and aim for 350rwkw.

A brand new rear housing ported with a bigger flapper was an extra 1100 from memory ontop of the 1600$ for the gtx so I opted just to get my standard housing modified for 350$. But if you have the budget get the entire turbo mate.

The gt3582 with all supporting mods is capable of 380-400 on 98. Multiple fg f6's have reached this.
