I use my FGXR6T as my daily driver and circuit car.

I've had my turbo rebuilt at GCG once before at about 150,000kms 2 years ago and was very happy with the service. Turbo will be up for an upgrade soon as it used more and more on the circuit. Currently done 212,000kms too. Keeping the car for 3 more years.

The car in on E70-85 Eflex most of the time and is heavily modified, both Chassis and engine. 4" Turbo side intake. Dual Fuel rail, extra pumps, intercooler etc.

I don't want over 370-400rwkw as it cant be used at the circuit even on slicks. An even 15-17psi across the rev range would be great around 360-370rwkw would be perfect.

What is VERY important is I don't want to lose the low down torque that the small compressor wheel provides. Just want more mid range/ top end too. Nice fat area under the graph.

To save money I am more interested in modifying my stock FGXR6T turbo (high flow, billet wheels etc) than switching to a GTX3576R with external gate.

A GTX3582R would have too much lag for my requirements at Wakefield and expanding exit 3rd gear turns.

What do you recommend and who can do this?

Thanks.

If you want to save money mod yours if not use the better GTX turbochargers in 3576 or 3582....have you experienced the lag in 3rd gear with a GTX3582 on E85 tuned for torque?

I know it's not your first preference but I would vote for the gtx3576 in the stock housing.

Does CMS still have the 3582 on special?

If so, would probably be the cheaper option as well wouldn't it

My Mr turbo 3540 has the same curve on the dyno up to 3400rpm as the little FG turbo did (and I have a 0.7 cover). Wont flow as much as a GTX but that doesn't concern me. I would give Mark at Mr turbo a call. Very very switched on dude.

Good advice thanks.

Just need to educate myself a bit more in order to be fully prepared before the inevitable happens.

Cant say I have ever driven a 3582 on e85 tuned for low grunt, but cannot see it possibly being quicker off idle to 3000rpm than my current set up, but I could be wrong.

Would love to test drive a gtx3582 though?

Any offers in Sydney? :)

Not sure how off idle performance will affect the 3rd gear turns I am not sure what's exactly wanted now?
