Fg Xr6T Exhust And Mod Questions

Hey

I have a 2012 fg xr6t

I recently got given a xforce 4"dump 3.5"cat back system

And when I put it on it ran fine ( haven't driven much ) and than the engine light came on

I gather I will now need a tune but I was talking to someone who said I now need to port my waste gate and new actuator ?.

Also if I tune it is there anything else I should to before hand I don't want to change turbos or anything extrem just cheep mods around the 5g mark .

I was thinking inercooler and pipes and cold air Intake is there anything else I should do or recommend doing ? I'm completely new to the whole turbo thing bit love my fords and loved the fg turbo !

Maybe you should have read up on this first bud

You cant do many mods to these cars unless tunned now that you have a full exhaust and driving without a tune you risk running

Overboost and bye bye motor hence why the engine light came on

And yes 5g should get you what you want depending on who does the install and tune

Injectors,intercooler and intake fuel pump x3 and tune may go over 5g

And a port and bigger flap for the gate is a must to control boost levels

You have to like Modding its like buying a boat it just keeps taking more money.

At the top of the menu page that this thread is posted in is a great info thread (Just bought an XR6T not sure where to start).

Some cool info in there im still reading it and finding out stuff.

A must check out.
