Not unless you already have the knowledge and want to pay for the licenses/hardware to do so, then even attempting to tune it yourself is going to end in expensive tears.

You can do it with hp tuners (and other flash tuners) but it'll cost more to buy it than to just pay to get the trans tuned.

Even if you had hp tuners for free you'd still be doing a lot of research to understand how the trans works and what each of the hundreds of tables do. This is not an overnight study or even a week long study for a beginner.

It's much easier to pay someone to do it for you.

Cheers, I'm thinking of learning how to tune the gearbox, but will probably take it to the tuner for the time being. And what tables are you referring to by the way? I'm completely new to tuning and keen to learn and do heaps of research through a long period of time.

All of the tables in the trans tuning part.

If you click here it will take you to the home page of hp tuners where you can download a demo of hp tuners.

From there you can have a look at the tuning interface which includes the trans stuff as well.

No worries. There is a fair bit of info out there but it's a bit spread out across the interwebz.

I just kept a word document open and copied any relevant stuff into it about trans tuning and building when I came across it.

The tables that the TCM reads to decide when to shift, control the valves, harshness of the shift etc
